Pro Air systems

Basically an air pump for inducing air into livewells. Anybody have this system installed?

I'm thinkin' of installing this system and eliminating the recirculation pump on my livewells. Actually I plan on turning the recirc. pumps into pump-outs.

Anybody got any thoughts on this? If I add the pro air can anyone think of any compelling reason I'd need to keep the recirc. pumps? I considered using the oxygenator system but using them in brackish water will kill'em and living on the gulf coast there's a chance I'd fish that kind of water - a real good chance!

Doug,

I used Oxygenators and they are great. The only issue you have is that if you want to use a treatment you have to use the U2. Catch & Release type products are not recommended.
Here's the link.

Yeah, I looked at'em but as noted in my post... I'm too close to brackish water, such that I may dunk my boat in it, and salt kills the oxygenators so I couldn't use'em - though I sure would like to have been able to.

For me it's not about having lost fish - I haven't and I don't want to start. What I'm wanting to do is add pump-out capabilities without adding a pump(s) or additional switches. The way for me to do that is have a verrrry reliable aerator such that I don't need to recirc any. My plans are to install two pro air systems(each system handles two livewells). But I'll run two systems, one to each livewell which will give me redunancy should one of the pumps fail. If I'm fishing alone, and not catching alot, then one livewell would be empty but the pro air would still be pumping air to that livewell as well as the livewell holding the fish.

If you are looking at getting rid of the recirc in favor of converting it to a pump-out system, check out Flow-Rite. They have a retrofit set-up to make your recirc dual purpose recirc/pump out. Essense of it is the recirc head is push in for recirc and pulled out for pump out if I recall correct.

Just an idea. Figure if you can have your cake AND eat it too, wth?! emoticon

Nitey,

I used that system on the Skeeters. Works well as it's just a push/pull switch to divert the water. That's probably what he's looking for.
