Knot Head???

We all fish many different area, types of water, types of fish and lures however! One thing we all have in common is the need to "tie one one".... the end of the line!

I fish mono, braid, and florocarbon line. I use a modified Trilene knot on most of my mono. A Palomar knot on most of my floro and braid and a San Diego knot on floro also depending on the bait.

What's your knot and line preference??

Re: Knot Head???

Almost always either a palomar knot or a double uniknot.

I use Trilene Big Game for all my reels. I use the palomar, but I use a different knot a lot of times too. Unfortunately, I don't know what it's called. hehehe.. My Bad

I been watching Knot Wars and have started using the fish-n-fool knot. I see know we have a new winner called the Berkly Braid knot that appears to be very strong. Here is the link that shows how both are tied.

That's a good show and I love watching the knot wars. There's some great info there.

I use just the polymar knot. Haven't had any issues with it so far.

Several years ago I saw a demonstration where folks could tie any knot they wanted to and the machine tested not only the knot strength but the strength of the line as well. The line that ALWAYS performed above its rating was P-Line XXX and the knot .....welll old age has me cant remebering what the knot is called........double the line through the line tie and make a simple overhand knot...then pass the lure through the loop and cinch her down....It has NEVER failed for me....not only on mono or coploy but floro and braid as well. I am the type that belives in what he has seen work and this was proven to me several times.
