Hang glidding

So today is my wife's birthday and we are going to go jump off a cliff with a kite strapped to our back!!!!
She's nuts( obviously she married me) and likes to do something she's never done before for her birthday, this year its hang glidding off a cliff at the beach.
If you all don't hear from me for awhile send out a search party over the Pacific...lol
You'd think she was 19 not 49. For me I just want to spend a quiet day on the water.
Wish me luck.

I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"

Re: Hang gliding

So, I've always been an aviation nut. Started flying in 1973 and skydiving in 1979. Instructor ratings in all and Airline Transport Pilot license and Skydiving Instructor Examiner. But, hang gliding started it.
We used to take our bamboo and reinforced poly home made hang glider off the Missouri river bluffs at a hill climb park in Levasy MO. Until the darn thing broke when I was flying it towed behind a pick up truck......
Last time we saw the glider it was sailing toward the river all by it's self! Decided airplanes were safer! 3800+ hours of flying and 3500+ skydives. You'll love it!

So when are you going to take me flying ,JE?
I have never flown before except for looking at a medical hellicopters ceiling for 5 minutes on the way to the e-room.

Re: Hang gliding

Nitro I'd have to go bet my medical back up. I retired from skydiving 4 years ago and have not renewed my instructor ratings since then. You have to have an airman's medical every 6 months to 24 month but the license never expires.
How about jumping out??!!??
