blueprinting cuping and blow out .......

hey jay i got a question on a lets say 23 renegade what kind of rpm change could i exepect and what kind of mph change would be average i know u cant give a exact number.. i just wanted a general idea.. i aim to have the tips cupped to but didnt wont to drop a lot of rpms as is im turning 5100 tourny loaded so dont wont to go much lower and as u told me earlier i need tip cup but i cant realy give up any rpms...... i ran a 21 renegade turned it 5800 heavily loaded so i think a smaller pitch is out of the question... i believe te 23 gade is my ticket .... and one more thing i have the top two water inlets pluged and the prop at 3 1/8 below the pad i have 19 psi this is the fastest setting ive fount higher it slips lower its slower but my question is there anyway to get the prop to bite beeter in turns ..in turns it losses bite bad it gets a little iffy if u know what i mean even when i trim down alot and make slow wide turns it lets go and rpms spike.... the 24 raker i had it cupped and it is un drivable unless i lower the motor alot it will let go if u nudge the stering wheel so i think im gona stick with the gade let me know what u think

just a little more info im still having to use all the trim to acheive max mph rooster tail is high... real high... prolly 8 ft or beter i know its not effecient to trim this motor that far out but to get top speed thats what i got to do.. i need more bow lift without using so much trim.

Shouldn't have dropped 700 rpms bumping up 2 inches of pitch. Should a been closer to 400 rpms (5400). I would suspect 1) the 21" had slippage issues due to blade damage, 2) 23" isn't a true 23" but maybe got "stretched" a couple inches or had some serious bite cup put in the trailing edges. Just off-hand guessing here. If possible, wouldn't hurt anything if you know somebody to borrow another 23" off of just to check wot rpms...Then you know for sure.

I run a 23" gade at 2.75", with top 2 pairs of holes plugged, maintaining minimum 12# on my crossflow under all conditions. Just fyi.

Good luck on dopin' in out! emoticon

i know nighty 700 didnt seem right... but could be the power curve with the high compresion with my 23 i might not be able to get all the way to max horse power with the 21 i can.... either way didnt seem right i dont have a pitch gage but im pretty sure this gade(23) is stock.... it was new in box after prop shop broke my last one i told them i wanted it cuped lightly but it looks stock to me if theres tip cup its very very light i think they got gun shy when they broke the last one .... the 21 was jc performance prop test wheel it was pink it had some sand rash but ive kind of learnt to shy away from him he stilll says a cleaver is the way to go ill run anyprop that will fit but i aint buying one that im positive wont work...... im looking at blue printing since i think this is my best bet and was just wanting to give jay some info.

Like I said "Cup it". Once the prop is doing it's job of lifting the boat you should pick up some rpm's which will result in a gain of speed.

I once did some cup work to the same prop on a 21 foot Javelin with a 225, before was running 66 mph, after cup work 72 mph at the same rpm's.
