Don't feel too bad, wevel. Sounds like an easy one to breeze by and had been figuring a redesign in my head that would have worked in (apparently) the same error of order

I will keep that in mind so, thanks for the tip! emoticon

yup wevel they go between the bulb and the pump. Ya want that water out of there before it hits the pump
It will be fine just may have to replace the o ring. It may have ruptured.

Water is heavier than fuel and will settle into the bowl, displacing the fuel in there.

In reality, using numbers on my 175 and 3/8" diameter hose, my maximum flow demand would only be traveling about 1/2 mph thru the hose.

Your function is not to separate water that is molecularly attached to the fuel, as in alcohol. The separator is to catch water that has already phased out (separated) from the fuel. Water is about 25% heavier.

Think of it like silt/sand/gravel getting flushed down a flooded stream and into a lake. Once it dumps into the lake, it stops traveling with the flow and you have a sand or gravel bar because the stuff is heavier than the water that was pushing it along.

Does that make sense? emoticon

yea i gotcha i thought these filters seperated water to the molecular level to as in the water that got absorbed by ethonal. yea i understand now i was thinking the filter wouldnt have enough time to get all the water since it has alot going on ... but i got what ur saying

the separator still should be before the pump. dont care if you have a ball or not the pump will pump up too much pressure for the filter to handle. did you put in a filter or water fuel seperator
