Re: Guntersville in April
See if you can get me a phone # to the DOT so I can see if I can get some kind of permit to bring the camper and I will stay at the camp grounds. I don't think I am legal in Bama to pull doubles.
Somebody needs to set a date. I'm good just need to tell work when I'm not going to be there.

Re: Guntersville in April
I am 82' long.... that's 12' over lenght in KY.With my old camper I was 76' long and didn't have any problems in KY but never went out of state. I would be alright on the interstate but when you start getting very far off the interstate they start paying more attention to ya.

Re: Guntersville in April
Gary I'll see Monday if I can get a number for ya too. I've got a co-worker that is the DOT guru for the power company, if he don't know he knows somebody that does.
I can probably make it on any weekend Fri-Monday mornin. Just let me know. I know the first weekend in Oct. I'll be on Lay Lake for our club classic. After that we are free.

Re: Guntersville in April
Me and my crew are in on Sat 10/23 and leave on Sat 10/30.....Depending on whether my normal fall trip partner is along - if not, I can hold over 'til Mon 11/1 before leaving. Got to be back for work on Tue night. That is, if somebody has room for me to crawl under a camper with a blanket.
Can't tell you anything about the campgrounds since it's on the opposite side of the lake from where the cabins are. We have been over to the lodge a couple times to eat and that's all really nice.
It's really easy getting to any of it traveling on the north side of the lake, from I65. I'm also thinking they not long ago built a new BPS coming off 65 on the north side.
Wevel knows more about the new cabins than I do, as they're over by the lodge if not mistaken. The part that we stay at is on the south side, just across the dam. Some of the older cottages there, as I understand are refurbished units that were orignally used by the people that worked on the dam when it was constructed. (Not the ones we stay in, though)
