That's where you pop it with a hammer when it won't start.

I AM NOT SAYING THERE SHOULD BE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR STUPIDITY,
BUT, WHY DON'T WE JUST TAKE THE SAFETY LABELS OFF OF EVERYTHING
AND LET THE PROBLEM SOLVE ITSELF?"

Re: Charlie,What is this?????
OK here ya go
unlike a thermostat that operates at a given temp the poppet valve operates at a specific PRESSURE usually around 2000 rpms. As the name implies, the poppet valve is a spring-loaded assembly. As rpm climbs, resulting in a corresponding increase in water pressure (since the water pump is now spinning faster, too), the assembly's diaphragm "pops" open and lets the water flow.It will open and allow more flow thru the motor. This will help keep the operating temp of the motor from roller coasting up and down as the stats open and close.
