Re: Tempest 25
No on the hydraulic plate. Just the Slidemaster. So I will have to find a happy medium. The way it is right now 72 GPS with the TP but I am around 16-18% slip. The 25 T was 73 GPS and still gaining. The torque steer makes it real hard to drive the chine.
I'm not running out of trim by no means but to get the front end up I have to trim up what I say is real high. The prop shaft is not level with the water.
Now I'm not real experienced with high speed boats but when I say chine it is like the boat is fish tailing. It's like the prop is throwing the boat left then right. That's why I was asking if a 4 bladed prop would help. It just seems to me that a 4 bladed prop would not torque as bad.

Re: Tempest 25
I know that feeling, as you said "throwing the boat left then right". That is normally the motor telling you "raise me"..But by what your saying the prop is not going to allow this to happen without being worked first.

Re: Tempest 25
Yes, the farther I raise the motor the less the chine but the harder the torque. It's kinda like dang if ya do and dang if ya don't. What can I do to help the torque if I do get the prop to go higher?

Torque tab! Or hydraulic steering...

Re: Tempest 25
I have hydrolic steering. When I say torque steer I mean that it is hard to turn left. I can let go of the wheel at 70 and the boat stays staight , well exept for the chine but you get the point. When trying to drive the chine it is difficult because so hard to make left inputs and so easy to go right.
Make sense? Or am I confusing ya.

Re: Tempest 25
are you sure the torque tab is built in to that lower. can ya take a pic of the skeg.
TM don't usually have em. just the tab on the cav plate that dont do squat at WOT. they aint even in the water at speed.
when you say Chine walking do you mean the boat is raising on the left the swaps to the right then to the left like its falling off the chines and gets worse and worse if you dont back out or are ya saying the bow is walking to the right then left. Like I said up above Ive never seen a Nitro chine or I've never been able to induce it on purpose .
Sounds like ya need Jay to look at that prop for some lift. Them Nitros dont take a lot of effort to get on plane. The 929 pops up and on plane like a cork in a few seconds. Running a box stock 25 trophy on that one with a 225 optimax and TM

Re: Tempest 25
The pics are hard to tell, lay a straight edge on the starboard side and see if there is any gap or not.
