nope but hey if in doubt check em out. pull em and throw em in a pot of water with a thermometer and boil them puppies. Im not sure on Yamamamamamamas but either 120 or 140 should show em come to life

I would think tho if bad they would raise pressure not lower it .. by the way ay idle mine barely read anything maybe 1 to 2 lbs

Will do Charlie. I do have the Bobs cone, wonder if a piece of trash is in there causing this problem?

Re: Yamaha 2.6 head gasket outer cover.

It's fixed...Heres what I did.
I removed the L.U. AGAIN and connected a water hose to the water tube, you know the one that connects to the water pump. Anyway I turned the water on and in no time I could hear and see the water pulsing from the pee hole. First I removed the thermostats and turned the water on trying to flush out what ever was in there, that did'nt work so I removed the bypass valve and turned the water on again to flush. What ever was in there must have come out that time. I reinstalled the bypass, turned the water back on, pressure came up to 25 lbs then I heard the bypass valve release and the pressure droped to 22 lb's, a steady 22 lb's. I'm headed to the lake after lunch to test. I feel like this is it...Thank God...

glad you got it.
I go nuts when there's something wrong and I can't figure out what it was.

I installed the new thermostats and guess what?? They increased my water pressure, it's back up running 22-24 lb's at W.O.T...

not sure why stats would increase pressure. the only thing I can think of is they were stuck open and you weren't getting to temp and now you're running warmer increasing the pressure. I have a motor here that I play with im gonna run it without stats wide open than put em back in just for giggles and see If I can recreate your problrm. But Im thinking you blew out something that fixed it but usually a blockage in the out flow creates high pressure not low. Who knows it dont matter as long as you're back getting that rig wet again. Good job.

Beats me!!The old ones where fully closed when I removed them. Only difference is the original are yamaha o.e.m. and the replacements are sierra.
I did notice the springs on the yamaha's was real soft vs. the sierra's.
