Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
That just go's to show that a prop that is true vs. a prop thats not will run faster. Now! Do a B&B on the Tempest and the numbers will change to Tempest 1st Fury 2nd.

Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
haven't heard how the fury does with a light boat. everyone says they work well with the barges like tritons skeeters and rangers though. Id like to see the numbers with an alley, Bullet, or strokers,

Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
The Fury would be a failure on the alley, Bullet, or strokers, theres just not enough diameter there to aid in running the surface, Not to mention it would have to much lift, especially on the Ally .I noticed on the specs listed by NITROZ9 the Fury is 14 5/8 and the Tempest @ 14 5/8 also, thats not correct, unless Mercury has made a change that I don't know about, the correct diameter is 14inch's on the Fury.
Most every boat that I have seen the Fury tested on, the motor has to be lowered for the prop to perform vs. the prop the owner was running before.
Don't take this the wrong way, The Fury is a great prop but just like any prop, it has it's place.

Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
Jay, are you saying that the Fury is smaller in diameter than the TP? I went out and measured my TP and it is right at 7 3/8" from center of the prop shaft to the outside edge of the blade. Why would they make it smaller? Easier to turn for hole shot?

Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
Yes sir it is....Yes the Fury will spool up quicker which makes for a better holeshot and midrange, but has to be ran deeper to make the numbers on top.

Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
I have heard that the fury don't run as good on the Z9 as the TP.

Re: Fury V/S Tempest Plus
That I can't tell ya but I can tell you this, B&B the Tempest and it will out perform the Fury on most any boat.
