Re: frogs (quality and $$$)
Actually the bobbys perfect are a lil larger, than the smaller spro that tends to work well on ky lake, the latest king spro is a real walker thou and have caught fish, this year already on it.
The biggest downside to a spro not including the king is they have to be constantly squeezed out as take on water quite a bit.The bully wa does not can make 20 or more casts with it before having to squeeze, with a spro 2 or 3,the exception being the king or the poppin frog yet there are days they want the small black one.
If not the bobbys perfect is a decent one to toss along with the bigfoot scumfrog.
Lot depends upon the size they are wanting and the type of action, the bobbys has more wobble than a small spro, but the king walks out of the box just like a spook.
Ive got three entire plano boxes of frogs including sumo, and depps, manns, just about every odd critter I can find (garfield)as well, beyond all those mentioned.
Why is I prefer to fish grass and pads as early as i can and as late as I can.
Considering the area ky lake isnt deep south ive still caught fish on frogs 10 months out of 12.Generally the last one in early dec and the first one in mid to late march.
This is a king spro 1 oz,caught march this year

Re: frogs (quality and $$$)
I aint real good with them, Ive only thrown a frog one time and i missed the one fish that tried to eat it. So I guess we can learn together!!!!
--- Just cause there's a wiggle in the water don't mean the fish's on the hook.

Re: frogs (quality and $$$)
We'd be glad to show ya, it gets yer blood pumping for sure. The only down side is like all other topwater's the fish miss it alot. Or the fisherman gets so excited that he/she takes it away before the fish actually gets it.

Re: frogs (quality and $$$)
I used to know an OLD guy (yes older than me) that showed me a trick to learning frog and basically all top water fishin. Laugh but it does work and my hook up rate went way up
cast the SOB out and close your eyes while bringing it in at a normal frog retrieve.
the delay from when ya hear it is longer than when ya see it and its just enough delay to allow that green thang to hook up.
after a while you learn and reflexes take over and ya got it down.
OK stop laughin now dammit

Don't feel bad that happens alot. Bullets suggestion is a good one. I don't close my eyes though I just don't watch the bait same thing with buzz baits.
