As for veggies one can ask most guides here and they dont know as operate out of the ky section. It was my lack of being able to ledge fish consistantly and my old habit of liking to fish shallow that lead me to find shallow stuff I could get bit on. Or for that matter anyone visiting who beat the bank so to speak back home. march, april may possibly june the ledge bite is better for those real knowledgable anglers(30lb sacks) ,july aug sept and oct I can beat those same ones like a drum(17-18 pds a day three days running if need be. The ledge bite takes current when not present its 12-14 for the best of them. Hole 178 Steve and I practiced on for about a month every couple of days it just kept putting out 4 to 6 lbers every trip. Ive never ever found a hole that just kept putting out like that one and that report was also an early trip to there. The big ones tended to wrap up,but we had them on,and gar often interfered. You need to make a trip here, will take ya,troller only needed, along with braid flipping stick and a very large net.nondisclosed_email@example.com (lilmule)Sat, 24 Apr 2010 11:31:37 +0000 Re: Tach Issuehttps://bbassnboatscom.runboard.com/p716,from=rss#post716https://bbassnboatscom.runboard.com/p716,from=rss#post716Hey 'mule, got to TR - dumped it in, fired it up and tach is working fine. Don't know if I didn't have necessary wire connected before or what. Last thing I did with the boat for swap out crankin' battery (was due fer new) so must have gotten back on then. duh. Need some of yer pads down here. These people apparently don't believe in water vegetation. nondisclosed_email@example.com (1Nightmare)Wed, 21 Apr 2010 23:21:10 +0000 Re: Tach Issuehttps://bbassnboatscom.runboard.com/p713,from=rss#post713https://bbassnboatscom.runboard.com/p713,from=rss#post713Mine did the same stopped working and rectifier was charging, yet rectifier at fault most likly has two grey wires one is for charging other leads to tach,as to wheater or not tach will read if taken off the other grey wire one just has to try,if so jumper or buy another rectifier at about 400 bucks.nondisclosed_email@example.com (lilmule)Wed, 21 Apr 2010 19:52:51 +0000 Tach Issuehttps://bbassnboatscom.runboard.com/p330,from=rss#post330https://bbassnboatscom.runboard.com/p330,from=rss#post330When it rains..... While firing up the '89 175XP tonight (first time this season), I found that the tach wasn't responding. Worked fine last fall when I put it to bed. First thing that worried me was that the regulator/rectifier went to crap since it seems tachs rarely fail in and of themselves. Got out the multi meter and found that I was charging fine @ 13.31 volts. Felt around on the back side (it was getting kinda dark out) and didn't find any loose connections and really no reason for a connection to come loose just sitting there. Needed something to occupy my mind with anyways while cussing to myself and running the motor up to temp to do a SeaFoam treatement on it. I had all the wires off the cranking battery except for the primary cables, before this but I don't think that any of the instrumention runs off of anything but the primary harness. I have a spare tach around here someplace but I got other stuff to do tomorrow to finish getting ready and packing to leave tomorrow night, than to dig around to find that thing. As long as it's not the reg-rec, I'll live. I've lost track of my test check list to follow with the barrier strip on the motor which would be faster than hooking up the other tach. Anybody got any hot ideas or can refresh my memory on the barrier strip test with a multi meter? nondisclosed_email@example.com (1Nightmare)Fri, 16 Apr 2010 21:14:27 +0000
